We process privacy-sensitive data, or personal data, via our website. Dealerdirect BV and its group companies Dealerdirect BVBA, Dealerdirect GmbH, Motordealerdirect BV, Motordealerdirect BVBA and Motordealerdirect GmbH (hereinafter: “Dealerdirect”) considers the careful handling of personal data to be of great importance. Personal data are therefore processed and secured by us with the utmost care.

In our processing, we comply with the demands of the privacy legislation. This means, amongst other things, that:

  • we clearly disclose for which purposes we process personal data. We do that by means of this privacy statement;
  • we limit the collection of personal data to only those personal data necessary for legitimate purposes;

Use of personal data

When you use our website we obtain certain information from you. That may be personal data. We only keep and use the personal data provided by you directly, within the framework of the service you have requested, or where it is clear that they have been provided to us to process.

We use the following information for the purposes mentioned in this privacy statement:

  • Telephone number
  • E-mail address
  • IP address
  • Your vehicle registration

Publication of data to third parties

When you register your vehicle, you must provide your personal data. We will not provide this information to third parties, unless this is necessary in the context of the execution of the agreement that you conclude through us or if this is required by law. In case of suspicion of fraud or abuse of our website, we may hand over personal data to the competent authorities.

Advertising

In addition to the information on our website, we may also inform you about new and/or additional products and services:

  • via e-mail
  • via social media

Newsletter

We publish a newsletter which we use to inform interested parties about our products and/or services. Each newsletter contains a link you can use to unsubscribe. Your e-mail address will only be added to the list of subscribers with your explicit permission.

Disclosure to third parties

We may pass on your data to our partners for reasons such as measuring customer satisfaction and for analytical purposes. These partners are (partially) based outside the EU. We have strict agreements with them to comply with European privacy rules.

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are also placed through third parties engaged by us.

Google Analytics

We use Google Universal Analytics to analyse how our website is used and how effective our marketing campaigns are on Google AdWords. For example, we collect data via Google Universal Analytics about the number of users who visit the website and from which page they have been redirected to our website. The information we collect contains no personal data and can in no way be traced back to individual users. We allow Google to use the obtained Analytics information for other Google services. We do not anonymise the IP addresses.

For the collection of data via Google Universal Analytics, we have placed JavaScript tracking code on our website that sends information to Google, e.g. to Google servers in the United States. Please read the Google Privacy Policy for more information. If you do not wish to be included in our Google Analytics statistics, you can use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Security

We take security measures to limit abuse of and unauthorised access to personal data. In particular, we take the following measures:

  • Access to personal data is protected by a user name and password which are only provided to employees who need them for the proper performance of their duties.
  • The data is stored after receipt in a separate, protected system.
  • We take physical measures to protect access to the systems in which personal data are stored.
  • We use secure connections (Secure Sockets Layer or SSL) to protect all information between you and our website when you enter personal data.

Retention period

The personal data described above are retained for as long as is necessary to fulfil our service. We then store data for a maximum of two years for the statistical purposes described. The data is then anonymised, unless there is a legal obligation that requires longer storage (such as the seven-year fiscal retention obligation).

This privacy statement does not apply to third-party websites that are connected to our website by means of links. We cannot guarantee that these third parties will treat your personal data in a reliable or secure manner. We reserve the right to introduce changes to this privacy statement. It is advisable to inspect this privacy statement regularly so that you are aware of these changes.

Access and changes to your data

You may also send us a request to view, change, or delete this data. You may also submit a request for a data export of data that we use with your consent, or provide a motivated statement that you would like us to limit the processing of personal data.

To prevent abuse, we may ask you to identify yourself adequately. When it comes to access to personal data linked to a cookie, you must send a copy of the cookie in question. You will find this in your browser settings. If the information is not correct, you can request us to change the data. If you wish to have personal data removed, you can submit a request to have these anonymised.

Of course we are happy to help you with any complaints you may have concerning the processing of your personal data. Under the privacy legislation you also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority against this processing of personal data.
